Do you think this is meant to be like two apartments put into one? Or is it actually meant to be an apartment? Because the windows are the windows. Some of the windows are.
SPEAKER_03The recording is live.
SPEAKER_00Alright.
SPEAKER_03Back with a whimper.
SPEAKER_00Back with a whimper. What? Alright, okay. Well hello everybody. We're back. We're back from the dead. Have you missed us? We haven't missed you. We haven't missed this. At all. Sorry? We haven't missed this.
SPEAKER_03Oh, this is exciting, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Not really. No? No. I could well maybe not here, but I said I could think of 101 things out of the way.
SPEAKER_03I've forgotten how to oh, I haven't forgotten that. I've interrupted. Yes, you haven't. I've forgotten how to deep throat.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes, yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Techniques off again. Yeah. Haven't deep throated mums. I was gonna make it a lurid comment there and say, you know, how about yourself?
unknownDeep throat.
SPEAKER_00I'm fine. My technique is fine, Ben.
SPEAKER_03Don't worry. It's a family.
SPEAKER_00I'm saying my microphone technique is. Ben I don't know what you're talking about over there. Jesus.
SPEAKER_03Okay. No no context. No talking about what we're doing, where we've been. Oh, other than Dane Tree, because that's relevant to what the uh to the film we're doing today.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is. It is.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it was not as good as I remembered. Oh Jesus.
SPEAKER_00What wasn't? Clarify.
SPEAKER_03The film.
SPEAKER_00Oh right, okay, yes.
SPEAKER_03Uh should we say about the experience last night? Haven't watched the film for months. Meant to do loads in New Zealand. Didn't do any. Will we catch up to do some for all the fans?
SPEAKER_00Bush, our rationale for that, our reasoning for that is because the internet has been shocking. Whoever said that internet in well, actually, I blame your Mac.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I said no context. We're not talking about the travelling episode. But oh the fans will get we'll get there. The fans will hear my thoughts on travelling and podcasting and life. It's terrible. But hear it on a different episode.
SPEAKER_00We've tried. Even speaking to Mummy and Daddy.
SPEAKER_03Sean, I hope you're well.
SPEAKER_00Even speaking to Mummy and Daddy, I can't anymore.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, sorry, I'm speaking to Sean. Sean, I hope you're well.
SPEAKER_00Yes. I hope you're well too.
SPEAKER_03Be fan.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Oh Dan Mackles.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes. I forget these people. It's been so long. SB film viewers. It's been so long.
SPEAKER_03We have fans, Fiona. We had fans. Yes. Okay? Right. So now you drag me around the world and now we've lost all the fans. Patreon. How's that going? Oh yeah. God, people are paying. They're funding this, they're funding this while traveling for you. I think I'm paying for it. And we're not giving them any content. We're saying in five stars, we haven't given them content since I don't know. When was the last episode?
SPEAKER_00Hold on a second, Ben. Look around. This isn't a five star.
SPEAKER_03When was the last episode for the Patreons, Fiona?
SPEAKER_00Erm Exactly.
SPEAKER_03So long ago, can't remember. It's disgusting. I'm stealing these people's money to fund your five-star addiction.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. What do you think of that? Well, you failed miserably this attempt, Ben.
SPEAKER_03We've got to start doing Patreon stuff. Yeah. Fiona. Okay.
SPEAKER_00We just lack a little bit motivation as well.
SPEAKER_03Booked a flight to Brazil recently.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes.
SPEAKER_03Patreon money pay for first class.
SPEAKER_00It's on my birthday, so.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So thanks, Patreon. Patrons.
SPEAKER_00Patreon. Yeah, why do you call it Patreon? It's just a joke, I'm amazing. Anyways, I'm bored of listening to you, so I'm gonna start talking about deep. Let's get into it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Twitter. How's Twitter been? Don't know. No, in all seriousness, before we get into the film, there's just no internet. Campsites New Zealand, no internet. Just awful internet. You don't even consider trying to do episodes with it, like them. Sean, like Sean, Lindsay, SP film viewers, tried one, me, Sean, Paul, in Gilly T. Fucking horrendous.
SPEAKER_00Lamwich Ben.
SPEAKER_03Horrendous. Need to put that episode together. That'll probably be out by this Halloween. Meant to come out last Halloween. Right. Sorry, guys.
SPEAKER_00Was that uh oh yes it was.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, anyway, anyway, we're back. It's it's I feel good. I don't. Well, I'm gonna just let them just roll the shoulders, get the old uh I won't do that because it's making noise. Rusts, get the rust off.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Anyhow, can I tell the fans what movie we're doing?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's 10 minutes max.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so Ben's Choice. Shit one. Lake Placid, 1999, 5.8 out of 10 under IMDB. Why Lake Placid, Ben?
SPEAKER_03Dane Tree, Australia. Went to Australia as well. We did, we did. Uh where haven't we been?
SPEAKER_00Such an ass. Yes, go on. What did we see in Dane Tree?
SPEAKER_03Crocodiles. Oh, big crocs. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00We liked them, didn't we? The crocs.
SPEAKER_03Big.
SPEAKER_00Big boys. Yeah. Very big boys.
SPEAKER_03Learned so much. Very interesting stuff. Went to Hartley. Yes. Was it? Maybe sponsor us, Hartley.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03Very interesting. Lots of interesting facts about crocodiles. Yep. Can't remember any of them.
SPEAKER_00I remember a few.
SPEAKER_03At the time. Mind blown.
SPEAKER_00I remember a few.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Are you saving that for the review or?
SPEAKER_00Yes, because it's on the next page and I don't want to turn the page because you'll give out too much making noise.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so first film in mum's. Yeah. Um awful. Awful experience last night. Internet. We're in an apartment. Thought it was going to be great. Wasn't. Didn't work. We were streaming off the phone at one point.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was very miserable. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh £3.49. £3.49. I had to pay for this.
SPEAKER_00Yep. For a £5.8 movie.
SPEAKER_03So the same price. Even more money than the bus that we're going to catch tomorrow, which is four hours long.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03Cheaper. The bus is cheaper.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. For two.
SPEAKER_03Pretty much, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So anyway.
SPEAKER_03That was tough.
SPEAKER_00So that's why we decided to do this movie. So three people attempt to stop a gigantic crocodile who is terrorising residents in Black Lake, Maine. This movie was actually not set anywhere on Maine. Oh. In Maine. On Maine. Whatever. Oh, sorry, Ben. It was directed by Steve Minor. Minor? Is that right? Or Milner.
SPEAKER_02Damn it.
SPEAKER_00Steve something, anyways. His other movies include Friday the 13th, 1981, and Part 3. Part two, part two. Part two, right? Yes, and Part 3, 1982. Interesting. And also Halloween H2O 20 Years Later.
SPEAKER_03Oh my Christ, of course. Jesus. Lots of fans of H2O. I'm not one of them. Do you know why, Fiona?
SPEAKER_00Because it sucks.
SPEAKER_03It's not great, no. There's uh there's also a CGI mask. I don't know if I don't think I've ever brought this up. I've never brought this up. It's a CGI Michael Myers mask.
SPEAKER_00CGI. You should see his face right now.
SPEAKER_03CGI, that's relevant to the stuff. Distorted to this film, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00It is very relevant. CGI mask.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, wow. Anyhow, starring Bill Pollman, who is Jack, who is the fish and main guy in this film. He was in De Sinner, actually, a series that I recently watched on Netflix.
SPEAKER_03The Casper, the Friendly Garden.
SPEAKER_00We also have Brendan Gleason, who is Sheriff Hank. Having a shocker in this movie. Very very bad shocker. He plays Mad Eye in Harry Potter. He was in Bruges. Have you ever seen Braveheart? Surely you have. Yeah. Yeah. This is my father in Irishum.
SPEAKER_03Not sure, probably.
SPEAKER_00Very good. And also The Butcher Boy. I've mentioned The Butcher Boy to you a few times now. You you really need to watch it.
SPEAKER_03Hey, the microphones are back out, baby. Yeah. Let's pod.
SPEAKER_00Bridget Fonda as Kelly. What's Bridget Fonda been in? That's people.
SPEAKER_03She was in some stuff during the 90s, and then I think she just retired. She just disappeared.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oliver Plash as Hector CYE, the weird crocodile man, who's in Modern Family for something or another. I recognise him for other stuff, but I'm just like, who is he? But I know. Anyways, Beshi Weich, uh, who plays The Old Woman, RIP. So yeah. And the man himself who actually created the crocodile was Stan Winston, who also created the monsters monsters in Alien 1986 and Jurassic Park 1993. Stan Winston. Just pause for a second. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I just wind me up. Any nerves, Fiona? You feel nervous?
SPEAKER_00No, not at all, Ben. I feel very calm and composed.
SPEAKER_03Well, Fiona, if you knew how many people listened, you'd be fucking nervous. I've got the numbers here.
SPEAKER_00I absolutely love to wear Ben that I'm not swearing, and you are.
SPEAKER_03I haven't sworn that much.
SPEAKER_00You've sworn three times, Ben now. I'm counting.
SPEAKER_03Oh shit, grow up. God, I'm sick to the back TV.
SPEAKER_00I mean, soul sick are you. Jesus.
SPEAKER_03Can someone come just someone replace her? Please, please. Sean, I'll fly you out. Patreon money. Get out of here. Replace her. Anyone? Not Dan.
SPEAKER_00There's a lot I could say, right now. But I'm just like, nah. I just don't have energy for you.
SPEAKER_03No, that went in September. And we started September.
SPEAKER_00So, anyways, what about Stan Winston? What are you on about? What do you want to say about him?
SPEAKER_03Well, he's very good. Very good. Utilise oh let me get my notes up.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, I've even got my notes up there.
SPEAKER_03Uh what have I got about Stan Winston? Well, it's Stan Winston. You've got to be utilising Stan Winston. But it's the same story, isn't it? It's the same story of the CGI. It's late 90s. Limitations were there, budget. What was the budget?
SPEAKER_00Oh I don't know. I didn't check that. I'm Rusty Ben.
SPEAKER_04You don't?
SPEAKER_00I'm rusty.
SPEAKER_04Jesus Christ. What do you expect? It's on the first page, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you know.
SPEAKER_04Budget, box office takings.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's basic shit. Yeah, then why didn't you look at it?
SPEAKER_04Because it's your job.
SPEAKER_00You've only got one. This is not my job. I'm rusty, I fucking told you.
SPEAKER_03Oh. Sorry. I'm counting.
SPEAKER_00I had to.
SPEAKER_03Stan Winston, the guy, the man, you've you've listed some of his films. You've got to just utilise Dan Winston.
SPEAKER_00But in all fairness, the croc did look good once when he was in water.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that yes, practical.
SPEAKER_00Very good.
SPEAKER_03I know I get it, that the money's not there. Limitations of the time. I has I don't know, has practical stuff got better since? I don't I don't can you mocap a crocodile? What do you mean, mocap? You know, when you put all the little things on them and you mo cap them so it moves like a real person and a crocodile.
SPEAKER_04It doesn't move like one, it's twirling around.
SPEAKER_00Yes, because we've seen them moving in the real life.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, oh we've seen it. Yeah. We've seen it, man.
SPEAKER_00So the size of this crocodile in this movie was much larger than anything that's ever been recorded. The largest crocodile which was held in captivity here in the Philippines was Low Long, who OIP'd in 2013. Oh, that's a shame. And he was 20 feet three inches.
SPEAKER_03When we saw in danger, it was pretty big.
SPEAKER_00He was very big. No verified session of any crocodiles over 20 feet. However, I did do a little bit more research and they actually found bones of a crocodile that was 40 feet.
SPEAKER_03Forty feet?
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03When was that?
SPEAKER_00Don't know when it was, but it was. That's all I know.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So you said this wasn't set in Maine. It was set in uh British Columbia, wasn't it? Yes, it was.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So at the moment, Cassius is currently the largest crocodile in captivity at 17 feet 12 inches. And he is in he's a he's a saltwater one in Australia in Green Island.
SPEAKER_01Where's Green Island? We're not meant to go to Green Island.
SPEAKER_00No. Where is Green Island? I don't know. I don't know where it is.
SPEAKER_01Lindsay, where's Green Island?
SPEAKER_00Help. Yes. And just a little bit of trivia for you on that. Well, not on that, but on the film itself. The cow that was used as beach and dangling over the in the helicopter, he was actually dangling in a crane.
SPEAKER_03Yes, the cow did look practical.
SPEAKER_00He was real. It was real.
SPEAKER_03Practical cow, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, real stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Not sure uh dimensioned Pichau or whatever you call it, the animal things. How did they feel about a cow dangling in a crane?
SPEAKER_03What it was safe, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't know. But you didn't know, but it's not really meant to dangle cows in a couple of crazy crazy.
SPEAKER_03I know, but it's dangling over a it's dangling over a CGI crocodile. So they're probably just like, yeah, we'll let this one slide because it's a CGI crocodile.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to talk about the movie now or do you want me to tell you some some fun facts about crocodiles?
SPEAKER_03Have you got it's a ten minute review? Yeah, no. Let's just get the film reviewed then quickly and then you can end on your fun facts because that's what the fans will probably want.
SPEAKER_00Just changed my pitch. So, the movie. What's the story with Brendan's accent? I don't know. He's all over the place.
SPEAKER_03Yes, he is. What's the story of this film? I just I thought I I had fond memories of Late Placid. I thought it was similar to Anaconda. You know Anaconda? Yeah. We should have done Anaconda. We'll have to do Anaconda. Are we going to uh Paraguay?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03Oh we're not?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03Oh that's a shame. Should we not go to Paraguay? No. Because then we can do Anaconda.
SPEAKER_00We don't have time then.
SPEAKER_03Then I can verify if uh what's his face? Oh, what's he called? John Voigt, Paul Sorro Saronny, Saron, something. You know, he's got the old Paraguayan Paraguayan accent, you know, he's famous, it's it's terrible. I can then verify if that's real or not.
SPEAKER_00Oh right, okay. Well you can verify in another episode, then we don't have to go to Paraguay just to do that.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I well I do because he's putting on a Paraguayan accent. Oh. So I need to go and speak to the Oh yes, the locals.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Fine. Good.
SPEAKER_03Really immerse myself in the culture.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So you've got Brendan sitting on a boat, eating all of these bar these cakes, not really doing much, talking to some guy who's gone diving. Why is he gone diving? What's he looking for?
SPEAKER_03I don't. I wasn't really I wasn't really paying it. Right. Yes, and sorry, so where where are we going with this review? I thought we were just getting it, just it was just getting it done.
SPEAKER_00We're just having a chat then.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, we've got other stuff to do, probably. Right, okay. We need to go shopping and stuff.
SPEAKER_00Um so he's zero head. You've got this fellow who's just had a viny in half an hour.
SPEAKER_03So we're starting from the beginning of the film.
SPEAKER_00Right? Plenty of time. Zero head.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's just standing there. Is it because he's loaded up in carbs? He's feeling a bit sluggish, he's not helping us. What's going on?
SPEAKER_03What do you want him to do?
SPEAKER_00I don't think he's He's sitting there on the boat, Ben, looking at this guy popping up and down.
SPEAKER_03No, he he pulls him out, doesn't he?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, eventually.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00He has to like come to him. Yes.
SPEAKER_03I think the thing is no one quite knows. That's that's the thing, isn't it? That's the mystique of the film. Or what's under Well, we do see the crocodile, but they don't.
SPEAKER_00I think the synopsis tells us under the water.
SPEAKER_03No, no, but the f the characters don't.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03But that's that's the thing with Anaconda. Anaconda don't well, because Late Placid, it's a horror comedy, isn't it? That's what that's what it is. It's meant to be it's meant to be funny. It's not scary. It's not that funny, to be honest. The interplay between Brendan and Hector. Yeah, there's a couple of bits that I like, uh, you know. A slight chuckle. But it's it's just quite it's quite it's quite aggressive. It's a bit it's a bit much. It's not it's actually I think it veers way over the whole like, oh look at these two just jossing each other. Oh god. But they're gonna be best friends in the end, I bet ya.
SPEAKER_00Well, with Bridget and Bridget slash Kelly, what's her deal? Is she meant to be a bitch? She's hateful.
SPEAKER_03Well, she's not a bitch, is she? She's heartbroken, her boss and her friend.
SPEAKER_00Well, she's just too defensive, too argumentative, basically too much like me. So she's just she's just horrible.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and you think she's a bitch? Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. How do you feel then about that?
SPEAKER_03Again, she's just a non-entity, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I the only thing I do like about her, again, she reminds you of me with the mozzie spray. You pointed out. That's nice.
SPEAKER_03I don't do mozzys of that rubbish.
SPEAKER_00Certainly don't do mozzys and I don't do camping.
SPEAKER_03Right, so where are we then? What what was my point? What was I saying?
SPEAKER_00Don't know, God knows.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it just wasn't as good. It was it was boring. Yes. It was 82 minutes. Oh, eighty two minutes. Oh, brilliant. Yeah, we had the issues with the internet, but it doesn't matter. Bedtime's approaching. It's fine, only 18 minutes. It's okay. It's half eight. Oh my Christ. No, it's fine, eighteen minutes, no problem. It was I was bored. So boring. Again, I guess we literally had a half a page of naughty. Oh, I just hate interrupts. They're trying to do the the Jaws thing, aren't they? Maybe. The characters don't see it, do they? So Brendan Brendan, pretty much until an hour in is like, Well, there's no crocodile. Oh, it's gotta be it's gotta be a bear. It's gotta be something else.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00No, he did some chomping on that bear.
SPEAKER_03That's fine. Build the suspense. We know it's a crocodile. Well, I know, but there's meant to be, because you don't see a lot of the crocodile until the last sort of 20 minutes. With the horror comedy and it's the characters aren't they're not interesting enough, are they?
SPEAKER_00No, they're boring.
SPEAKER_03The bally who between Brendan Hector's it's just not.
SPEAKER_00And obviously her and whatever his name is at the end, it's gonna get together.
SPEAKER_03I'm sure I just interrupt. Just looking around, I must be talking to someone else.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, obviously they're gonna get together.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I know it's not interesting. It's not it's almost like it's meant to be sort of a character study. It's it's more about you know, let's let's see the characters on land, see what they're doing. Everyone's going through their own thing, you know, denial, betrayal, there's no betrayal.
SPEAKER_00In other words, she was betrayed by my friend.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah, okay, yeah. Denial, betrayal, you know, trying to find themselves, trying to get over heartbreak.
SPEAKER_00But demis and de Sorry, go on.
SPEAKER_03It's boring. Anaconda's a lot more, it's it's a lot more interesting. The characters are even more ridiculous, the whole thing's more ridiculous. John Voigt, absolutely obscene. It's m it's fun. It's a horror comedy as well. Well, to be fair to both the films, they they do take themselves far too seriously, I think. I think they both do. I don't know why. I'm just saying anaconda because they're sort of similar, aren't they? They're creature features, you know, one's a big Anaconda, one's a big crocodile. They bred all these sequels and how many sequels to this film? Oh, five or two. Tons.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, tons.
SPEAKER_03Godzilla as well. You know, you've got you've got these sort of creature feature monster films, haven't you? The nineties. Nineties are weird times, isn't it? It's a weird period, you know, the eighties, you know, oh brilliant, brilliant time of horror. Trying to get awarded. Yeah, well, I'm I'm yeah, it's very interesting, what I'm saying. 80s, brilliant. Do you not agree? Brilliant time of horror. So many good films. Yeah, excellent. You know, iconic. 90s. It's like, what do we do next? Yeah. Almost they sort of started to harpen back to the olden days. You know, we need no more interesting ideas, so let's let's dump out loads of shit sequels and let's try and maybe remake some films from the 50s. And I don't know, you've you've got some have you finished?
SPEAKER_02No, well, I I'm just saying whatever. I've I've got no point.
SPEAKER_00Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_02I've got no noise.
SPEAKER_00So basically, this movie isn't about an investigation about what's in the war, who killed who. Yes. But you've got all of these people just showing up tagging along. Why? Why is Hector allowed in? Why is Bridget allowed in? She looks at two people's teeth. Well Animal's teeth.
SPEAKER_03Yes, well, Bill Paulman does go, sorry, well why why are you here?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but she let he lets them tag around, so why not let the public every with Tom Dick and Harry from the public?
SPEAKER_03Well, that's just silly now.
SPEAKER_00Like creepy creepy Brendan, when he was eyeing up that girl, why didn't you just invite her along? It doesn't make sense. Oh the girl. Yeah, the girl. Creepy Brendan eyeing her up.
SPEAKER_03They are they all they all are experts or they are they're not just random people off the street, they are all doing something that's related to the film or what they're doing.
SPEAKER_00I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00Of course they are. The two.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04From a museum. Yes, but we know why she's there because she's upset, she doesn't want to go home. Right. Bill says it, he goes, Well what you what are you doing? You're enjoying this, aren't you? No, I'm not. She's fine with it. She's loving it.
SPEAKER_03There's only like two kills in the film, isn't there?
SPEAKER_04It's not enough. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Someone's torso or someone's head. I'm not complaining about seeing less of the CGR crocodile because every time you see it, you just want to throw up. But anyhow.
SPEAKER_04Still, I don't know, just more practical.
SPEAKER_00What do you think of Hector's dance moves when he's dancing with the girl in the tent?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I just I don't You're just not.
SPEAKER_00It's a shame.
SPEAKER_03This film just sorry, sorry, excuse me if you're not.
SPEAKER_00It's just it's just again frustrating.
SPEAKER_03It's a shame, but it's a shame because I I had I had I had reasonably high hopes of this film.
SPEAKER_04I was like, oh I've been silenced. What do you mean you've been silenced? I was talking first.
SPEAKER_03I'll go back and listen to it. I was like, yeah, late passage, you know, very easy sort of whatever film to get back into it. Australia, danger, it's all related. Crocodiles. Uh 349, ouch. And then it was just it was so boring.
SPEAKER_04I was like, oh god, no.
SPEAKER_00I thought this was fun. I nearly fell asleep to be fair.
SPEAKER_03And then obviously because of because of course, you know, Your Highness, um, no.
SPEAKER_00Your Majesty.
SPEAKER_03Your Majesty, yeah, that's the one. Over here is like, oh, I I I'm only doing podcasting again if I if I'm interested in film. I'm not watching bad films.
SPEAKER_00Yes. This is horrific.
SPEAKER_03So there's that pressure, oh god, impress Frioni. You know, needs to get her motivated, or she won't she won't participate.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, it's it's very hard to participate. But when you do a lot of talking, talking over me.
SPEAKER_03I'm sitting there on the film going, oh this this is oh no, and you're there like you know, writing like you know, one line of notes.
SPEAKER_00It's like, oh god, this is shit.
SPEAKER_03Brilliant. Fantastic. Anyway, any what else we've got to say, please?
SPEAKER_00Right, so Kelly's in the water. She he flips the boat over, Kelly's in the water.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00Crocodiles swim very fast. Twenty-nine kilometres per hour. Oh, is that true?
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, we do remember the facts.
SPEAKER_00Twenty nine kilometres per hour.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They can shift ours, can't they?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. He would have gobbled her up. She'd be gone. She'd be bye bye. Yeah, there's there's there's we should have nitpicked it because there's nitpicked because I'm that's actually what I'm doing, is I'm nitpicked as well.
SPEAKER_03There's loads of nitpicks, but the thing is, what I'm saying is that you can take the nitpicks.
SPEAKER_00Oh she didn't it didn't flip the board, did it? She just fell out. No, it flipped it. It flipped the board. That was an awful bad scene as well.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's all it's all.
SPEAKER_00And the scene where he takes the cow from your one.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00Twenty white. Yeah, that was that was a bad thing. Did you have fun with it? Did I have fun with what?
SPEAKER_03The film?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03Right, that's I had fun with the trivia. That's my point. It wasn't it wasn't as it wasn't as fun as I remembered. That was the the real tragedy of the whole thing. It was just boring. For 82 minutes as well.
SPEAKER_00But you couldn't you couldn't get any of the characters. For example, when your man's head was bitten off in the bush, nobody was upset, nobody seemed traumatised other than Kelly, but already you hate her because she's such a bitch.
SPEAKER_03I didn't hate her, I was just like Oh, I hated her.
SPEAKER_00Couldn't bear her.
SPEAKER_03So you hate yourself. I've got my mother ringing here as well. So we need to wrap this up, need to speak to her about God knows what.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So, anyways, then we see this this bear. Where did so the bear comes out of nowhere? Everyone's fighting. This bear comes out of nowhere. Where the fuck did this bear come from?
SPEAKER_03They're in the wild. There's bears everywhere. They're in Maine.
SPEAKER_00Nobody heard him. There was like loads of booby traps hanging around the place.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, but didn't didn't Brendan didn't he uh use all the booby traps? He fell into the hole and then he and then he got then he got hog tied. Well not hog tied, whatever. He got in the tree.
SPEAKER_00My my watch is a little bit more. Oh interesting.
SPEAKER_03Just bear with us. We're just trying to make a comeback. We're just trying to get back on track. Just bear with me, mum. Take it easy.
SPEAKER_00The croc actually looks really good in water. Really bad out of war.
SPEAKER_03Yes, uh CGI, just not good.
SPEAKER_00So then we get a little bit of backstory as to why the crocodile is in the water. So Beshi has been feeding the crocodiles. Yes. But she admitted at the first part of the movie that she actually killed her husband. Why is Beshy still around hanging around the place? She's just admitted to killing her husband. And she hasn't reported his death, which the crocodile essentially.
SPEAKER_03It's a horror comedy.
SPEAKER_00I should have nitpicked it. Yeah, but what are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_03What waste more time arresting Betty?
SPEAKER_00I like her though.
SPEAKER_03Wasting more time interrogating Betty. Officer fuckmate to get a move.
SPEAKER_00Officer fuck meat. I hope that the crocodile eats you alive.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, and there's there's dick Oh is it fuckmate, is it? Fuck meat yeah. I thought it was dick mate. Not fuck meat. Oh, and then she says about suck a dick and yeah, she's fine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she's okay. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Betty White, you know, no problem.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
unknownFine.
SPEAKER_00And the little crocs at the end.
SPEAKER_03Yes. I'm pushing it along, but you know, my mum can wait, but it's like it's not, it's we're 25 minutes in.
SPEAKER_04It's not worth it's just to get it's just to get back into it, you know. Yeah, just feeling good. It's nice to talk again. Right, we're still not finished to film then. You know, it's just like, you know, just to put those podcasts on no, on blast. No. Just to remind everyone, you know, we're still there. Hey. We're still here, we're still better than you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, for God's sake, you eagles. Oh god, I haven't I haven't been humbled. Oh, travelling's not humbled me.
SPEAKER_00Not aware.
SPEAKER_03I still think we're so much better than everyone else. Oh god, what I've wasted six months.
SPEAKER_00So I have here about the poor cow. So basically, they're trying to trap so just a little bit of context, they're trying to trap the alligator, um, the crocodile, by pushing a cow in the air in a helicopter, flying over it. Can cows swim? We've already talked about the cow. Can cow swim? I don't think they can. But we've talked about the cow. Yes, I know that. I'm just saying this is this is this we're finishing up the movie then.
SPEAKER_04Thanks for watching.
SPEAKER_00Finishing up the movie. Alright, go on then.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so the cow, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, poor cow. It's all I have to say.
SPEAKER_02Practical cow, great, loved it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Bad CGI at the end.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, real yeah, just a shame. I've I I remember this film be to be better than it was. I've said that about a hundred times.
SPEAKER_00And where did the second croc come out of?
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, that was that was a nice touch with the crocodile at the end. Yeah, you know, Brandon uses his gun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was fine. There is some evidence to suggest that um the crocodile skin's back skin is actually bulletproof. It's that hard.
SPEAKER_03Interesting.
SPEAKER_00That hard. But he did get him in the next one.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, quick crocodile facts, quick.
SPEAKER_00The most uh they have the most powerful bites in the animal world. Once the jaw is shut, they lock into position and crush their prey. They can apply 3,700 pounds of pressure per square inch. Don't know about square inches, but I know that's a lot. When they oh uh yep, so when they lose a toot, it's quickly replaced. According to the San Diego Zoo, they can go through 8,000 teeth over a lifetime. Isn't that phenomenal? Phenomenal. And they actually don't chew their prey, their jaws actually don't have that uh movement, they actually just have to crush it and swallow it. Uh they don't sweat, so to cool down, they keep their mouth open. Remember when I was in we were in that place in Hartle's? I was like, why do why is all their mouths opened? That's why. Cooling down. Um as I said, very fast swimmers, 29 kilometres per hour on um on the in the water, and they can hold a breath up to one hour, uh up to one hour. However, when we were in Heartle's, they said that they can hold them for between six to seven hours, didn't they?
SPEAKER_03Maybe. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Uh they can only run on land for up to 18 kilometres for a very short time. So if you're in the water, you need to run out of the water basically for a very short short.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, I remember the the gentleman saying that, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, and that's all I've got for you, Ben. They also have excellent hearing, and the reason why you have to send five metres from the shoreline is because they can actually hear the vibration of your feet.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, I remember that as well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and that's how when we were in Hartleys, they were trying to like, you know, get them to come up to the come up to the area where they were, and they actually stamped their feet.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes. It was Hartleys, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Heart Hartleys, or yeah, it was Hartleys. It was it was Hartleys.
SPEAKER_03Okay, whoa, almost half an hour, God. Oh sorry fans, you know, again it's it's more of the same, isn't it? It's me going 100 miles per hour. It's just because we just wanted to just get it done. Wasn't impressed with the film overall. Shame. But next episode will be a little bit slower, a little more chilled out, relaxed. When have my mum ringing me?
unknownMaybe.
SPEAKER_00Maybe we should go ring her back, Ben.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we're just finishing off, you know, and no rush.
SPEAKER_03You know, it felt like it was a rush. Just slow down off your own, slow down.
SPEAKER_00Because you shit yourself. No, I'm a little bit. I've been very slow, Ben.
SPEAKER_03Because I've got because as you forget, um it ends for you here. You shouldn't have much editing to do, Ben. It ends for you here, it's just starts for me, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Second we stop, that's where the fun begins. Oh.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00On that note, goodbye.
SPEAKER_03Anything else? No, deep blue sea. That's another monster monster film.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we have swam a sharks, haven't we?
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's got some oh that's that's a CGR with with Samuel Jackson. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. That's actually that used to scare the crap out of me, that fellow. Oh, when all the water fills in. Oh no. Deep blue sea. Yeah, I'm not sure. That's why I'm serious.
SPEAKER_03Right, here we go. Anaconda, Deep Blue Sea, Godzilla. What else is there?
SPEAKER_00What what what no not Godzilla? I don't like those type of ones. I like sea stuff.
SPEAKER_03Godzilla. Uh we can call out uh call out, shout out, Sean. I'll go make Sean.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Him and uh a gentleman by the name of Bill did uh a Godzilla episode a while back. So go listen to that, you know. I'm all I'm all for it, you know, we're all part of the family.
SPEAKER_00Hmm.
SPEAKER_03Go listen to other people's podcasts.
SPEAKER_00You're just the black sheep of the family.
SPEAKER_03What do you mean by that?
SPEAKER_00Because you don't do any podcasts.
SPEAKER_03Well, I don't recently, Fiona, but I've done quite a few of the last couple of years, haven't I? Young grateful fucks.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we have. We, Ben, we. I am paranoid, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_03Yes, but I've I've been on some chocolate. I've been on every episode. So you've been on half.
SPEAKER_00More than half, what's it?
SPEAKER_03I've been here for the duration, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_00Yep, and I've been listening to you for the duration.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you listen to my episodes, do you, when I'm when you're not here? No. With Tom and Dan and Sean and guests.
SPEAKER_00Okay, point taken. I don't listen to you.
SPEAKER_03My mum, of course. Blair Witch Project, I never listen.
SPEAKER_00Just friends, go have a listen. Ben the street. Ben was a nervous wreck.
SPEAKER_03Anyway.

SPEAKER_03Oh, it costs so much work.
SPEAKER_00Anyhow, thank you for listening and goodbye, Crocodile Friends. Goodbye. He's still gone.
SPEAKER_03Uh what's next?
SPEAKER_00Deep Blue Sea.
SPEAKER_03Maybe. We need to catch up on the New Zealand films.
SPEAKER_00What New Zealand films do we have to watch?
SPEAKER_03The Hobbit?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. I read the book.
SPEAKER_03We need to nitpick one, as I said. You can't just keep going around on five stars. You can't just keep doing five first class flights if you're not gonna pay them back with episodes. Right. Patreon.com forward slash film Patreon.com forward slash film offlers if you want to give us money so we can see it. For no reason. And it will find our traveller.
SPEAKER_00Yes, thank you. Any shout Hey everyone. Shout out everyone.
